Brand leader: Going the extra mile with outsourced marketing support
Qcom is one of Europe’s leading providers of outsourced technical services and aftermarket support for technology products.
The company works with some of the world’s biggest and most innovative technology manufacturers, delivering services in 15 countries across Europe.
With a strategic plan already underway to consolidate the company’s focus on key sectors and technologies, Qcom engaged Leader to deliver a new brand and a marketing programme to support ambitious growth targets.
Working with Qcom’s senior team, we ran a series of sessions to explore new value and brand propositions. Identifying the core company values as technical, operational and service excellence, we captured a spirit of exceptional service and pan-European coverage with a launch slogan of ‘Going the extra mile’.
A fresh brand identity was developed around a new logo, colour palette and image treatments. A new website was built with a design and structure which emphasised core customer solutions and deliverables.
After launching the new brand to market, Leader was engaged to deliver a comprehensive outsourced marketing function to support the ongoing delivery of Qcom’s new business and growth strategy.
The new website and brand launched in January 2020. While excellent early results were initially tempered by the impact of Europe’s Covid-19 response, they quickly recovered to reflect and support Qcom’s strong performance through the pandemic period.
Despite the lockdown and associated economic headwinds, year-on-year website visitor numbers were maintained. Better targeting and richer content meant the average duration of each website session was increased by 60% compared with the previous website design (amounting to more than 70 hours of additional visitor time on the site in its first year).
As well as delivering better quality website visits, the strong content strategy also underpinned a social media campaign which has increased engagement by nearly 700% on the previous year, and grown the audience by 170%.
Email marketing has helped communicate with and support customers through this unprecedented period, and contributed to a strong new business performance through this most challenging of periods.
Qcom Managing Director Neil Anderson said:
We knew that the delivery of our strategic business plan would require outstanding branding, targeted messaging and effective communication.
In the face of a once-in-a-lifetime economic crisis Leader has been able to deliver all of this and more. The impact and engagement that their work has created speaks volumes for their skill, experience and determination to see a job through. I’m delighted to have them on the Qcom team.
